PaithalMala (also known as VaithalMala) is a Hill station and one of the most beautiful place in Kerala. It is located near Kappimala village in Kannur district. Near to Kerala Karnataka boarder, Paithalmala lies in the Western Ghats. At a height of 1372m above sea level, it is the highest geographic peak in Kannur.
PaithalMala is a Photographers Paradise and Nature Enthusiasts love this place.
Let Us Start Our Journey
PaithalMala is surrounded by dense forests.
It will take 45 minute walk through the Forest trail to reach the top of the hill.
Be careful through the forest trail,
In the summer season they'll disappear from the forest trail, and is the best time for trekking.
The forest path may not be too smooth to cover, as they are often changed by the climate as well as the occasional elephant visits.
Walk away from the elephants, make sure they are not in the trekking path.
Trekking across the forest gives you incredible views of the Paithal valley.
At the top a Plain Grass land welcomes you in.
What you gonna witness is a Land of Green Magic.(Though they turn yellow in the summer)
The thick grass cover may make it difficult to walk through, especially in the monsoon season.
The trail through the grass land leads you to the Observatory tower.
The Observatory Tower.
The views from the observatory tower is just breathtaking, and hard to describe them in words!!!
The low flying clouds, misty mountain peaks and sylvan valleys are visual delights which you'll cherish forever.
From the observatory tower you'll get a clear view of the KTDC's tourist complex, from where we have started trekking.
Yes, you are at the Heaven on earth!!!
The most romantic place...
A place to hang out with friends..
If you ever get a chance - Go!!!
